It has been another few busy months here at Mediquip and it doesn’t seem to be slowing down any time soon. We have had an abundance of installations, workshops and conferences keeping our team busy throughout Australia.
Back in April Mediquip installed 22 O-Two Advantage Analgesic Systems and Mediscav Scavenge Units at the Sunshine Coast University Hostpital and are set to be used in the maternity ward.
In May, Bronwyn travelled to Perth for Demos and Respiratory Workshops with our Vimedix Ultrasound Simulator, while Dana visited Dubbo for training with the Royal Flying Doctor Service who recently purchased our Lucina and Apollo simulators. Later in the month, Dana was off to Adelaide for the annual Spark of Life event hosted by the Australian Resuscitation Council and took along our CPR Training models.
Simulation Week was also celebrated in early May and St Vincent’s Hospital in Melbourne participated by displaying our CAE Healthcare METIman to the public. This display was used as an opportunity to showcase how clinical simulation supports the learning of their health professionals to improve patient safety.Great work St Vincent’s!
CAE Healthcare announced a new nursing manikin, Juno, which will help students to develop clinical nursing skills. Keep an eye out for more news on when Juno will be available!
Even more exciting news was the team at the Werribee Open Range Zoo in Victoria using our Bionet BM3 monitor for a health-check procedure on Yankini the silver-back gorilla. You can check out some photos and a video of the procedure on our Facebook and Twitter pages or HERE.
Mediquip had many successful installations the past couple of months as well. A DGM AND 150 was installed at Albany Creek Veterinary Surgery and Simeon Business Line Theatre Lights were installed at Veterinary Specialist Services in Underwood, both in Brisbane. Kyle, Ben and Paul carried out a double installation of Simeon Highline Theatre lights at Sunnybank Private Hospital, and just recently Kyle installed a DGM AND 100 steriliser at HCF in Hornsby NSW along with Kurt.
Our calendar has also been filled with events with the Annual Australian Sonographers Association Conference which Bronwyn and Leilani attended with CAE Healthcare in Brisbane. The VimedixAR was a hit with delegates keen to have a try using the hololens which allows users to scan in an augmented reality. The same weekend Cam and Lisa were in Melbourne for the Annual Australian Veterinary Association Conference. We were pleased to announce 2 winners of our conference competition – Alan Forte from Racecourse Road Veterinary Clinic and Rowan Smith from Warwick Town and Country Vet. They each won wine, chocolates and a $300 service voucher!
Some of our team also attended the Hummingbird House Gala at the start of June. Hummingbird House is a fantastic organisation that Mediquip have been supporting for over 3 years. We were lucky enough to purchase a painting on the night which will be on display in our front office.
